I’m from Japan and I love Japanese culture so much, especially kimono.
Kimono is one of the things to show Japanese wonderfulness, and itself is also expressed “wearing a painting”, so even now we love it and wear it in various situations.
For example, at the coming-of-age ceremony, a graduation ceremony and a wedding, many women wear gorgeous kimono, it’s called “Furisode”.
Recently, lots of “antique-kimono”, they’re made more than 100 years ago and in good preservation, have appeared on the market.
Some of them are designed with the brilliant colors, and the other one expresses the beauty with restrained colors, so I’m amazed by the unique ways of using colors.
I think kimono is a mysterious costume. It sets off people as clothes, and pumps people around you up too.
I started this website in hopes of telling the beauty of kimono to the people not only in Japan but also all over the world.
I’m willing to post the basic information, such as how to manage it and where to get it, as well as its beauty.
If many people will be interested in kimono and come to want to wear it through this website, I’m so happy.
I’m not an expert of kimono, but as a kimono-lover, I think I could tell you and introduce you how to wear it casually from my point of view.
About “HORORO KIMONO”
“Hororo” is a cry of pheasants and copper pheasants when they fly off.
I named this website “HORORO KIMONO”, wishing that culture of wearing kimono will spread throughout the world like birds flapping in the sky.
And I myself want to fly away to spread the Japanese culture to the world.
About “casual-kimono”
This is one of the categories of kimono, and I will write about this category.
I will introduce variety of styles of wearing kimono in daily life, rather than a traditional formal way.
Even in Japan, few people can wear kimono by themselves because traditional way of wearing is in common in Japan, so generally we ask an expert to do dressing.
Originally kimono used to be worn on a day-to-day basis.
From this aspect, kimono should be more familiar and more casual like clothes we wear now.
I usually wear kimono, without feeling any difficulties to wear.
So, writing this page, I’m aiming for being able to define the kimono as following.
Kimono always stays together without strict rules, and that we can wear as one of the casual clothes.

初めまして！
私は日本が大好きな日本人です。
中でも特に好きなのが着物。
「絵を着る」とも言われる着物は日本の素晴らしさを表現したものであり、今でもさまざまなシーンで活用されています。
たとえば、大人になったことを祝う成人式では、多くの女性が華やかな振袖を着ています。
また、卒業式や結婚式などでも着用する人も多くいます。
最近では、アンティーク着物と呼ばれる100年以上前の着物もたくさん出まわるようになりました。
見た目にも鮮やかで、ハッとするような色使いの着物に驚かされたり、控えめでありながらも凛とした美しさを表現する着物があったりと、いつもワクワクしています。
着物は着る人を引き立てだけでなく、周りにいる人のテンションもアゲてくれる不思議な衣装。
私はこの着物のすばらしさを日本だけでなく、世界中の方々に知っていただきたいと思い、このサイトを立ち上げました。
着物の美しさはもちろん、管理方法や入手先など、基本的な情報を発信していこうと思っています。
そうすることで、一人での多くの方に着物を着ていただけるとうれしく思います。
私は着物の専門家ではありません。
だからこそ伝えられる情報や、気軽な着方も紹介できるはず。
そんな思いを持っています。
ほろろ着物について
「ほろろ」とは、キジやヤマドリが飛び立つときの鳴き声のこと。
鳥が大空に羽ばたくように、このサイトをきっかけにして着物を着る人が世界中に広がるといいなと思って名付けました。
そして、私自身も、日本文化を世界に広めるべく、大きく羽ばたきたいと思っています。
カジュアル着物とは
このサイトでお伝えするのは、「カジュアル着物」というジャンルです。
伝統に則ったフォーマルな着方ではなく、もっと気軽にどこへでも着ていけるような着物スタイルを紹介していきます。
日本でも着物を自分で着られる人は少ししかいません。
そのため、専門家に着付けをしてもらうのが一般的ですが、それはフォーマルな着方が主流だから。
着物は本来、日常的に着られるものでした。
そう考えると、もっと身近で、もっと気軽でいいはずです。
実際私も、普段から着物を着ていますが、決して難しいものではありません。
ルールに縛られず、いつでも身近にある着物。
普段着の一つとして着用できる着物。
そういった位置づけの着物を目指しています。
